Lime-Stabilized Clay Boosts Road Durability and Cuts Construction Costs Dramatically
The researchers investigated how adding lime to clay soil can make it stronger for building roads and foundations. They tested different amounts of lime to see how it affected the soil's properties. They found that adding 8% lime reduced the soil's stickiness, and adding 10% made it easier to compact. The best strength was achieved with 8% lime. Too much lime at 10% made the soil weaker. This study shows that using lime can improve clay soil for construction projects.
