Increased seeding rate boosts grain yield in aerobic rice, suppresses weeds.
The researchers studied how different methods and rates of planting rice affect weed control. They found that increasing the seeding rate up to 300 seeds per square meter can help suppress weeds and improve rice yield. Weed-free plots produced 23% more grain than weedy plots. Broadleaved weeds were the most common, making up over half of the total weed biomass. Overall, the seeding method did not significantly impact weed suppression or yield loss due to weeds.
