The article introduces a new method called s-Pareto optimality for selecting the best design concepts in engineering. This method uses s-Pareto frontiers to identify the most effective design options and eliminate weaker ones. By applying computational optimization early in the design process, engineers can make better decisions before finalizing a design. The study demonstrates how s-Pareto optimality can help in choosing the most competitive design alternative by comparing different concepts and selecting the most promising one. The method is illustrated using a truss design problem to show its practical application in real-world scenarios.
