The Product Composition Control System (PCCS) was created to ensure that the waste produced by the Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) meets regulatory standards. It uses statistical methods to manage a complex system with many variables. The system was successfully tested during DWPF Chemical Runs, showing it can control the production process. The DWPF will process high-level nuclear waste into glass for storage.
