Plastic mulch helps hot peppers grow better and produce more fruit. In this study, two types of plastic mulch, black and clear, were compared to bare soil. Hot peppers grown on black plastic mulch had the best growth and yield. Clear plastic mulch made the soil warmer and helped the plants flower earlier. Overall, using plastic mulch is a great way to increase hot pepper productivity and extend the growing season in tunnels.
