Climate change boosts vegetation growth in sensitive Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
The researchers studied vegetation changes in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau using satellite data. They found that from 2000 to 2009, the greenness of the region increased on average. Around 20% of the area, mainly in the northeast, showed a significant increase in vegetation. Only 4% of the region, mostly in the south, had a decrease in greenness. This suggests that the Plateau is getting greener overall, with some areas seeing more growth than others.
