Energy estimation in buildings can be inaccurate due to differences in how people use energy. A new method combines traditional energy calculation software with agent-based simulation modeling to better predict energy consumption. By adapting building energy models for different occupant behaviors and simulating how these behaviors influence each other over time, more accurate energy estimates can be obtained.
