New method reveals hidden water flow patterns in leaky aquifers!
A new method called the double inflection point (DIP) method has been developed to interpret pumping tests in leaky aquifers. This method analyzes the changes in water levels over time to estimate flow parameters without needing to fit any data. When applied to a heterogeneous aquifer, the DIP method, along with other existing methods, provides different insights into the distribution of water flow properties. By combining the DIP method with the Hantush method, researchers can identify differences in water flow near a well compared to the overall aquifer.
