Sand from Jandia Isthmus shaping coastlines and beaches in Canary Islands.
Researchers studied how sand moves in the Jandia Isthmus in the Canary Islands. They used models and measurements to predict where the sand goes. The sand mostly moves to the South or South-Southeast because of the strong winds from the North. The sand also travels to the southwest along the coast. This sand is an important source for beaches on both sides of the isthmus.
