Livelihood diversification boosts resilience for East African herders.
Livelihood diversification among East African herders in Kenya and Ethiopia is explored in this article. The main goals are to understand how herders make money in different ways, to study income diversification in the region, and to identify gaps in current knowledge. Factors like climate, distance to markets, gender, wealth, and education influence how herders diversify their income. The study suggests that more research is needed to fully understand how herders adapt to changing conditions and opportunities.
