Human activities driving rapid phenotypic changes in wild animal populations.
Human activities can cause wild animals to change their physical traits. A study looked at over 3000 cases in 68 different areas and found that animals change more in human-disturbed places than in natural ones. This is likely because animals can adjust their traits quickly in response to changes in their environment. These changes can happen suddenly and are mostly due to animals being able to adapt rather than changes in their genes. In short, humans play a big role in how animals look and behave in today's world.
