New study reveals two subgroups of human parvovirus B19 in Vietnam.
Human parvovirus B19 has different genotypes, and researchers in Vietnam found that two genotypes (1 and 2) are present in patients with Hepatitis B virus. Genotype 1 was more common, with two subgroups identified (B19-1A and B19-1B) that are genetically different. This shows that B19 in Vietnamese patients can be classified into distinct groups based on genetic differences.
