Firms with lower quality more likely to outsource jobs, study finds.
The study looked at why companies move jobs overseas or outsource work. They used data from 32 countries to see what factors influence these decisions. They found that companies with lower quality or innovation are more likely to outsource work. Also, companies with lower profits or longer time to launch new products are more likely to move jobs to a different location.
