Boost Cauliflower Yield by 25% with Potassium Application in Sandy Soils
The study looked at different types of soil in Rangareddy district and how cauliflower plants respond to potassium. They found that certain extractants were better at pulling out potassium from the soil. The amount of potassium extracted varied between soil types, with more in sandy clay loam soil and less in sandy soil. The NH4OAc extractant showed a strong correlation with plant potassium uptake and cauliflower yield. Cauliflower plants took up more potassium in Mominpet soil compared to Emamguda soil. Adding potassium to the soil increased cauliflower yield significantly. Overall, for every kilogram of potassium added, there was an increase of 25.3 kilograms of cauliflower yield.
