Antibiotic Ciprofloxacin Linked to Testicular Damage and Infertility in Men
Ciprofloxacin, a common antibiotic, was given to rats to see how it affects their testicles and sperm. The rats that took ciprofloxacin had lower sperm count, less sperm movement, and fewer healthy sperm compared to rats that didn't take the antibiotic. The testicle tissues of the rats on ciprofloxacin also showed more cell death. This shows that ciprofloxacin can harm the reproductive system in male rats.
