Ocean energy technologies are being developed to provide alternative sources of electricity due to rising fuel prices and environmental concerns. These technologies include wave energy converters, tidal energy converters, ocean thermal energy conversion, and ocean wind energy. Despite covering a large portion of the Earth's surface, only a few ocean energy technologies are currently available commercially.
