Southern Spain Farmers Boost Social Capital for Sustainable Agricultural Development.
Farmers in southern Spain contribute to social capital in agriculture by sharing norms, values, and beliefs that promote cooperation. The study identifies three dimensions of social capital: structural, relational, and cognitive, each with subdimensions. By measuring these dimensions, researchers created a composite indicator of social capital at the farmer level. Factors like education and income influence the accumulation of social capital. The findings can help policymakers support sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
