Public sector in Germany pays women more, men less than private sector.
The study looked at the differences in wages between public and private sector workers in Germany from 1984 to 2001. They found that women tend to earn more in the public sector, while men earn less. The distribution of wages is more even in the public sector, with lower-paid workers benefiting more. Employees with more experience and basic education do better in the public sector. These trends were consistent throughout the 80s and 90s.
