Estonia's pension age increase leads to later retirements and more incapacity pensions.
The study looked at how raising the retirement age in Estonia affected when people start receiving pensions and stop working. They used data from the Estonian National Social Insurance Board to analyze this. The results showed that the gap between normal and early retirement ages did not increase, and more people are retiring at a later age. However, there was a rise in people claiming incapacity pensions during the economic recession, which offset some of the effects of the retirement age increase.
