Protecting Agricultural Land: Balancing Urban Growth for Sustainable Development in Jordan.
The goal of the study was to protect agricultural land from urban expansion in a specific area in Jordan. The researchers identified the best areas for agriculture, urban development, forest, and range use. They prioritized allocating land for agriculture to ensure its long-term availability. Areas unsuitable for agriculture were earmarked for urban expansion, with specific criteria for selection. The final plan allocated 36% of the area for agriculture and 38% for urban expansion, aiming to balance development with agricultural sustainability.
