Urban transportation and land use are closely connected, with changes in one affecting the other. Various models have been created to understand this relationship and aid in urban planning. Introducing new transportation systems or improving existing ones can significantly impact the surrounding development. Cities like Delhi and Navi Mumbai have seen this firsthand. Research shows that changes in land use have a big impact on transportation, and vice versa. The goal of this paper is to summarize the theories and research on how land use and transportation interact in metropolitan areas.
