The researchers studied how to accurately measure heat flux in an orange orchard in Italy. They used two methods: Surface Renewal (SR) and a simplified aerodynamic method (SAM). By comparing these methods with eddy covariance measurements, they found that SR and SAM can give almost as accurate results for estimating heat flux as the more complex eddy covariance method.
