The article discusses the challenges of registering infrastructure that crosses property boundaries in the cadastral system. Traditionally, land ownership and rights are tied to surface boundaries, causing confusion for infrastructures that span multiple parcels. The authors propose a solution to improve registration without changing the current 2D parcel system. By addressing these issues, the cadastral system can be enhanced to better handle cross-boundary infrastructure objects.
