The article discusses how Cleaner Production policies in China have evolved over the past two decades. By analyzing data from national key enterprises, the researchers found that both voluntary and compulsory audits have helped improve Cleaner Production practices in Chinese industries. The government, businesses, and the public have all become more aware of the importance of Cleaner Production. The number of enterprises implementing Cleaner Production audits has increased, and a technical advisory services system has been established. As a result, there has been noticeable energy savings and emission reductions achieved through Cleaner Production efforts in China.
