3D Cadastre Revolutionizes Land Management, Empowering Governments Worldwide
Efforts are being made to improve land management worldwide. A new model called LADM was standardized to help efficiently manage land information. The Korean land administration model was proposed in 2012 but lacked 3D spatial information. To address this, 3D components were added last year, including 3D parcel and building information. A cadastral reform project has been correcting cadastral information since 2012, aiming to include underground utility and terrain details in parcel information. The goal is to create a comprehensive land administration model that covers all necessary information. The shift towards 3D cadastre is crucial for modern land management, with plans to expand the new model to other cities in Korea.
