New reservoir management strategies boost oil recovery in Alabama field!
The goal of the study was to understand the Womack Hill Field in Alabama better to improve oil recovery. The researchers used data on rock properties and oil production to analyze the field. They found correlations between core samples and well logs to map properties like porosity and permeability. By studying production history, they estimated the amount of oil in place and how much could be recovered. Based on their findings, they suggested ways to drill new wells and manage production to get more oil out of the field.
