Chepang communities in Nepal face dire climate change threats, need urgent policy support
Rural communities in Nepal, like the Chepang people, are facing more unpredictable weather due to climate change. A study looked at 221 households in four villages to see how vulnerable they are. They found that exposure to climate change is influenced by how well households can adapt. Poor households with low adaptive capacity are vulnerable no matter where they are. To reduce vulnerability, it's important to create non-farm job opportunities and provide education and training. This will help households cope better with climate change.
