Rural women in Nigeria play a crucial role in agriculture, making up the majority of the labor force. However, they often face gender inequality and lack decision-making power in agricultural development. The women-in-agriculture program has helped empower them, providing better access to resources like farm inputs and credit. Despite progress, barriers still exist that need to be addressed to further enhance their contributions to agriculture and rural development. It is important to recognize and appreciate the significant role that rural women farmers play in ensuring food security in Nigeria.
