Smooth bromegrass, a grass from Europe and Asia, is widely used for forage and erosion control. It can be invasive in the northern Great Plains. Researchers studied its growth patterns compared to meadow bromegrass. They found that both species had similar tiller production rates, but smooth bromegrass suffered more from frequent harvesting.
