Selenium-enriched soybeans offer potential health benefits for consumers worldwide!
The study looked at how selenium is distributed in soybeans when they are enriched with selenite. They found that as the amount of selenite applied increased, the total selenium content in the soybeans also increased. Most of the selenium in the soybeans was in the form of organic selenium, making up around 84% to 91% of the total selenium. Inorganic selenium was present in smaller amounts, ranging from 8.9% to 16%. Additionally, selenium from SeCys2 made up about 7% to 10% of the total selenium in the enriched soybeans.
