Seena River Water Teeming with Diverse Zooplankton Species, Boosting Ecosystem Health.
The researchers studied the water of Seena river to see what kinds of tiny animals called zooplankton were living there. They found that the water had good conditions for zooplankton to grow. The number of zooplankton was highest in summer and lowest in the rainy season. The most common types of zooplankton were rotifers, followed by Cladocera, Copepoda, and Ostracoda. In one year, the order of dominance was Rotifera > Cladocera > Copepoda > Ostracoda, but in the following year, it changed to Rotifera > Cladocera > Copepoda > Ostracoda.
