Farm tractors in Oyo State, Nigeria, were tested for fuel consumption during ploughing. Different tractors were used at various speeds and depths. The study found that fuel usage increased as ploughing depth and speed increased. Ploughing deeper or faster led to higher fuel consumption. It's important to consider crop root depth when deciding how deep to plough to save on fuel costs.
