The researchers studied grasslands in Maramureş County dominated by Agrostis capillaris and Festuca rubra. They identified different plant communities and species in the area through field surveys conducted between 2003-2006. The main coenotaxa identified were Hypochoeri radicatae-Agrostetum tenuis, Anthyllido vulnerarae-Festucetum rubrae, and Festuco rubrae-Agrostietum capillaris.
