Adding Sawdust and Rice Husk Boosts Fire Resistance of Clay
Adding Sawdust and Rice husk to refractory clay affects its properties. Refractoriness decreases from 1300C to 1200C with additives. Shrinkage reduces from 3.89% to 3%. Thermal shock resistance improves with additives. Porosity increases with additives, with Rice husk having 36.74% and Sawdust having 45.34%. Bulk density decreases with Sawdust and Rice husk. Silica content decreases from 62% to 54% with additives. Alumina content decreases from 20% to 12%. Iron oxide content increases slightly with additives.
