Roadside dust pollution decimates fruit tree production in Pakistan orchards.
The study looked at how dust from road construction affects fruit trees in Pakistan. They found that trees near the road had more dust on their leaves and their stomata (tiny openings) were more closed, affecting their growth. Apple trees near the road produced less fruit compared to those further away. Plum trees were less affected by the dust.
