Dynamic windows slash energy costs in office buildings by adapting to solar radiation.
This study looked at how using special windows, called dynamic windows, can help save energy in office buildings in places like Korea where both heating and cooling are needed. These windows change how much sunlight comes in, so they can reduce the need for heating or cooling. The researchers used a computer program to simulate energy use in buildings in Incheon and Ulsan. They found that these dynamic windows can help offices save energy and be more comfortable year-round by adjusting the amount of sunlight that comes through.
