Qualitative research in clinical pharmacy needs to be rigorous to be trusted. The quality of this type of research has been questioned in the past. This paper discusses the importance of ensuring rigour in qualitative studies and presents different viewpoints on quality in this type of research. It also suggests strategies to maintain rigour in qualitative research. Recent research in clinical pharmacy shows that researchers are using various methods to ensure the trustworthiness of their qualitative studies.
