Agricultural cooperatives are important for Romania's agricultural development. After 1989, many economic entities tried to regroup as cooperatives but faced challenges. Most agricultural land is managed by small owners who lack support in the new market system. To improve this situation, a program to establish and support national agricultural cooperatives is necessary.
