Poverty Reduction Strategies Transformed by Multidimensional Welfare Insights
The article explores how different aspects of well-being change for people at different income levels in Ghana and Uganda. By looking at growth rates in various welfare indicators, like income and life expectancy, researchers created growth incidence curves to show these changes. These curves give a more complete picture of poverty and social welfare than just looking at overall income growth or poverty rates. Despite the recognition that poverty is multi-dimensional, most previous studies have only focused on income growth.
