The study looked at how bromate forms during water treatment with ozone. They found that higher ozone levels and longer contact time led to more bromate. Bromate formation was also affected by pH levels and the presence of ammonia. Increasing ammonia levels reduced bromate formation. Overall, lower ozone levels and longer contact time are needed to reduce bromate formation in water treatment processes.
