Soil in Slovakia is being degraded due to not following good farming practices and prioritizing production over ecological concerns. This degradation is also fueled by government support for land development. Soil provides important functions beyond just growing crops, including ecological and economic benefits. Economic interests often lead to soil degradation, but valuing soil's ecological functions could help protect it. However, financial values alone cannot prevent degradation; ethical values are crucial in how we treat the soil. Our beliefs and attitudes towards soil play a big role in its degradation and value.
