Maintenance dredging in the Peel-Harvey estuarine system is needed due to high boat ownership. The Peel-Harvey Dredging Strategy aims to improve coordination between stakeholders, identify environmental issues, recommend disposal options, and streamline approvals. The strategy was informed by a recent dredging campaign and past dredging records. It addresses approvals process, suitable methods, timing, material disposal, monitoring, and environmental impacts.
