Unlocking Soil Nitrogen with Organic Matter: A Game Changer for Agriculture!
The study looked at how soil organic matter affects the release of nitrogen in soil. They found that when organic matter was present, more nitrogen was available in the soil. Adding lime to soil without organic matter also increased nitrogen availability. Humic and fulvic acids from soil organic matter were particularly effective in releasing nitrogen. The researchers also found that the amounts of nitrogen that could be extracted and exchanged in the soil were similar.
