Social Media Use Boosts Social Capital in Japan and Brazil
The study looked at how using social media like Facebook and Twitter affects social connections in Japan and Brazil. They surveyed workers in both countries and found that using social media can help build social connections in both places. In Brazil, using social media a lot is linked to making new friends and strengthening existing relationships, especially when people enjoy using it. In Japan, people use social media for practical reasons and for fun, but how much they enjoy it doesn't affect their social connections. Cultural differences play a role in how social media impacts social connections in each country.
