Innovative method recycles sulfur from gases, reducing environmental impact.
The method described in the article helps recover sulfur from gases containing hydrogen sulfide by using the Claus process. It involves reducing sulfur compounds in the off-gas to hydrogen sulfide, which is then absorbed, recovered, and reused in the process. This method is designed for gases with high levels of carbon dioxide, as well as COS and organic sulfur compounds. By combining fresh feed gas with the Claus off gas before the reduction step, the process can efficiently convert these gases into valuable sulfur.
