Soil liquefaction is a big problem for buildings on sandy soil. This paper talks about how to figure out if soil will liquefy using tests like the SPT and CPT. They came up with a new way to find out soil properties from the CPT and adjust the results for thin layers. They also gave an example to show how it works.
