New herbicide combo boosts wheat yield and profit, no harm to crops.
A study at Punjab Agricultural University found that using certain herbicides on cluster beans in one season did not harm the following wheat crop. Pendimethalin followed by imazethapyr gave the best results for weed control and crop yield. This treatment also gave the highest net return and benefit-cost ratio compared to other weed control methods. Other herbicides tested did not show any negative effects on the cluster bean crop or the wheat crop that followed.
