Highway bridges in New Jersey are experiencing early-age cracking in the concrete decks. A study on a curved steel girder bridge with a high performance concrete deck was conducted to understand the causes of these cracks. Factors like temperature differences, construction methods, and loads were analyzed. The research found that these factors contribute to the cracking issues in the decks of curved bridges. This study helps in reducing the risk of early-age cracking in similar bridges.
