New Study Reveals Soil Water Capacity Variability Across Tamil Nadu
The study looked at 130 soil samples from Tamil Nadu to figure out how much water they can hold. They measured how much water the soil can hold at field capacity and permanent wilting point. The available water capacity of the soil varied from 1.2% to 22.6%. The amount of organic carbon and the type of particles in the soil affected how much water it could hold. The researchers found that the field capacity and wilting point could be predicted based on the amount of organic carbon and the soil's texture.
