Hormone imbalance in repeat breeding buffaloes could hamper dairy production
The researchers compared hormone levels in normal and repeat breeding Murrah buffalo cows. They found that progesterone and triiodothyronine levels were lower in repeat breeding cows throughout the estrous cycle. Thyroxine levels were also lower in repeat breeding cows during certain phases. Thyroid activity was highest during the estrus phase in both normal and repeat breeding cows.
